Center for Gender Medicine – Andrology and Fertility Hospital of Hanoi was established on December 15, 2022 with the following purposes:
1. Affirm reputation in intensive treatment of gender medicine:
Along with the social life development, the need of life quality improvement is also increasingly concerned. Besides conventional medical treatment, today psychological counseling and therapy related to male, female sexuality as well as gender issues and LGBT community are increasingly paid attention. However, in reality, there are not many medical facilities that research and apply intensive treatment for these issues. Many customers who desire to share, get advice and medicament for “sensitive” problems have not found reputable facilities to confide and feel secure in treatment. Faced with that situation, the Center for Gender Medicine – Andrology and Fertility Hospital of Hanoi was established with the purpose of examining, diagnosing, consulting and treating issues related to male and female sexuality; homosexual – bisexual and transgender, intersex cases as well as gender dysphoria.
2. Scientific research:
One of opportunities and also the pride and important stepping stone of the Gender Medicine Center is to become an official member of Vietnamese Society For Sexual Medicine (VSSM) – a prestigious social-professional organization where doctors, pharmacists, and bachelors working in the health sector jointly exchange professional experience, expertise, and scientific researches to best serve sexual health care for the people. This is also an opportunity for members of VSSM to exchange and further learn clinical knowledge and practical cases to apply in actual treatment. The establishment of Gender Medicine Center is highly appreciated by experts and extremely important in performing the mission of caring for people’s health in general and sexual health & reproductive medicine in particular.
